Dragons Fall To Nether But Still Advance

The Dragons knew they were in for a long day when they fell behind to Nether only 17 seconds after the opening kick.

But fortune smiled on Haverford as they held Nether off the scoresheet the remainder of the first half and finished the match down 4-1, still enough to qualify for the second day of the Columbus Day Tournament based on Nether's earlier dismantling of GCVSA, 7-0.

Nether showed great energy on the ball and physical play as well; they peppered Haverford's keeper, Danny Lyons, with countless shots.

Lyons served well until he left the match with an injury following a collision in the box.
