Brown and McCallum also had strong efforts well saved by the United keeper. Brown fired a brilliant shot in from the right side that rattled the right post. McCallum's came on strong work down the left side by Ryan Kelley and Conor Higgins.
Kelley's through ball found McCallum, but good positioning by the United keeper enabled him to deny the shot at the near post.
But it was Connor Bradley who got the match winner when another ball served in from the right side fell to him very invitingly. With a touch to settle, he collected himself and found the net in the 58th minute.
The Haverford defense then remained resolute in the final two minutes to deny Spirit's attempts to get back in the match. Senan Farrelly, Shane Bradley, Sean Kauffman and Peter Moore shut the door and preserved the victory.
