Brown then finished the scoring with a breakaway goal in the 43rd minute, and nearly bagged himself a hat trick with a number of fine shots which were only a whisker too high.
Both Hegerty and Cordrey came very close to netting additional goals on the day, and late in the match additional opportunities for goals fell to Kevin Toal and Peter Moore, whose strong efforts were only slightly wide of the mark.
Hegerty used very hard work, again on the right, to get in close, but at an acute angle. With his options limited, he shot for the near top corner, and very nearly converted.
Cordrey's lofted effort was not high enough to clear the Lower Merion keeper, whose height was a noticeable advantage. He also had an angled shot along the ground sail inches wide.
