Cordrey was eager to score as he had missed out on taking the penalty moments earlier.
Not to be outdone, and perhaps because Haverford let up slighlty, Lower Merion struck twice in four minute's time just before the interval to tighten the contest considerably.
The first goal was a well-taken low shot form the right side, and the second was a goal produced from among the chaos in front of the Haverford net which resulted when Lyons came out to make a play on a ball into the box, but was unable to control it.
In the melee, Lower Merion seized their opportunity and drew within one.
Following the break, Patrick Hegerty and Bradley were producing fine attacking form, using sharp passing and penetrating runs to bother Lower Merion's defense.
