Dragons End Season, Nether Stays Top

The Haverford Dragons closed out their 2007 campaign with a hard-fought 5-2 loss to Nether today, as Willie Fineberg and Conor Bradley notched goals in the second meeting of the two teams this fall.

Going into the match Nether was top of the table in Division 2, but needed a win to cement the top seed in the playoffs next weekend.

All top four teams were within striking distance of the top spot, with Nether leading on 24 points, Lower Merion second on 23 points, Lionville third on 22 points and Radnor taking the last playoff berth with 21 points.

Haverford, which sat mid table on 15 points, was out of playoff contention and could only play the role of spoiler.

The Dragons now look forward to an off-season break, and the rest it affords.
