Dragons keeper Aidan Barber saved well, colliding with a West Chester attacker who had broken through in the 15th minute, and Noah Cordrey saw his break on goal denied as his effort sailed just wide in the face of the onrushing United keeper who came out and forced him to take a difficult shot.
Cordrey made amends for his miss in the 32nd minute, however, as Collings provided a great cross from the left side after he had beaten a United defender.
But the Dragons, playing with only one substitute, succumbed to fatigue, and three minutes after taking a two-goal advantage, surrendered one on a direct kick from 19 yards out.
