Dragons Start Season On The Good Foot

Despite the absence through injury of talismanic midfielder Tate Gallagher, the Haverford Dragons got their 2007 campaign off to a strong start as five different players found the net, en route to a 5-1 victory over the Greater Chester Valley Gunners.

It was Gallagher who scored last season's championship winning goal, and it was Gallagher who, in last season's opening match, recorded a hat-trick to ignite the Dragons' undefeated season.

But Gallagher failed a last-minute fitness test when his troublesome foot, which appeared mended, was re-injured during warm-ups.

The Dragons rallied, and got the sort of start they had been hoping for, appearing quite ready for the season.

The passing touch was present, and _ as the scoreline indicates _ players were hungry for goals.
