Fineberg Opens The Scoring

The Dragons managed to breakthrough for their first of the match in the eighth minute when Willie Fineberg took advantage of a loose ball in the box and pushed it over the line.

The goal was the result of mounting pressure the Dragons were applying to the Gunners' net, as players swarmed forward.

The first goal proved the spark for more determined play from Haverford, and the pressure continued; the Dragons dominated possession and kept the Gunners pinned back in their defensive third.

The second tally, in the 13th minute, was the result of similar hard work by Haverford, and the build up came from the left side of the park, as Noah Cordrey pounced on a ball in the box and fed it across to a wide-open Ryan Brown for a tap in.

Undaunted, the Gunners kept moving and working hard. Despite the Dragons' search for yet more goals, it was the Gunners who pulled one back shortly before the break.

Creative passing through the middle of the park led to a nice through ball to the left side. The Gunners pushed forward and flooded the box with players. It paid off as the Dragons failed to clear or control the ball and the Gunners got on the scoresheet with a close range finish.
