It was a tale of two halves today as the Dragons hosted Lionville. But in the end, Haverford showed their mettle and claimed the victory, 3-1.
Haverford started lethargically and found themselves on the back foot under a determined Lionville attack from the off.
The visitors got immediate pressure on the Dragons, who looked like a different team from the one which played with pace and grit last week against Methacton.
Keeper Danny Lyons was pressed into service within a few minutes of the start, and saved well, as Lionville served notice they had come to play.
Miscommunication among the Haverford back line was creating chances for the visitors, and in the 18th minute Lionville got their noses in front courtesy a well-taken effort from the right side of the box just inside the 18 yard line.
